A unique funny bunny sculpture made of glittering white micaceous clay. Micaceous clay is flecked with naturally occurring mica, making the white clay sparkle with golden glitter. It is mined here in New Mexico in high altitude volcanic regions.
Handcrafted from white Micacious clay with golden mica glittering throughout. The bunny was pinched and coiled into shape without the use of forms. Details were added in the final firing with a pink glazed nose and shiny black glazed eyes, but the rest of the bunny is unglazed sparkly clay.
Micacious clay is a low firing clay, so do not leave it outdoors in freezing weather.
Dimensions: 7” tall x 4” wide x 5” deep
Artist Statement: I fell in love with the look of this clay, and struggled with the difficulty of forming it since it holds its shape like warm cream cheese. It’s a clay from New Mexico, my new home, so I’ll continue to try and master this fun new material.
